How To Stay Cool in a Shirt and Suit
Share
Dress codes don't change just because the weather is warmer, people still have to dress smartly and appropriately for work, weddings, and a whole host of other occasions - so, how do you stay cool while wearing a shirt and a suit? There isn't much that can be done about having to wear this expected ensemble, however the fabrics that are chosen for the suit and the shirt can make a large difference. Polyester and man made fibres cause the skin to sweat more due to the fact it cannot breath properly, therefore it is best to choose natural cotton fibres, for the shirt especially. When you are buying shirts for the warmer months, it is a good idea to keep this in mind and go for something lightweight and cotton. If it is a very warm day, then sometimes the tie can be left off, and with an open neck shirt you will feel cooler. Also, a lightweight suit with no lining, or even just a half lining, is a better choice than a heavier one.
Obviously work places and modern buildings all have air conditioning these days, however travelling and going about your business of the day in general can cause you to get hot and sweaty if wearing the wrong fabrics. Aside to this, sensible actions can be taken such as drinking plenty of water, removing the suit jacket while travelling, and also if it is going to be a long hot day, then keeping a spare shirt or two in the office or in the car is also a sensible option to ensure you are always fresh.
